Floorworks® at Monmouth Medical Center, NJ Posted: May 2011 Posted by: Mats Inc.

Replacing the aged, water damaged flooring in Monmouth Medical Center facility’s cancer wing corridors provided facilities manager, Chris Terry, with the perfect opportunity to enhance the aesthetic for an improved healing environment.   Chris turned to Beth Insabella Walsh of InsabellaDesign in Red Bank, NJ to help him choose a flooring solution.

As one of New Jersey’s largest community teaching hospitals, the corridors are well traveled with heavy foot traffic from patients, staff, and visitors, as well as countless students and visiting physicians.  The flooring solution required would need to be exceptionally durable to withstand rolling wheelchairs, high heels, scuffs, and scrapes.  Beyond the necessary functional features, Chris and Beth wanted the flooring to have a natural, home-like appearance.

They selected Floorworks® by Mats Inc. for its hard-wearing resilience, ease of maintenance and natural beauty of hardwood to achieve the warm, welcoming appearance they were seeking.  The wide variety of styles and colors in the Floorworks® collection allowed for Beth to combine planks in Aged Gunsmoke with tiles in Toffee Sandstone to create a unique design and add interest to the flooring.  Chris is so pleased with the end result that he is considering using Floorworks® in other areas of the medical center.
