Contemporary Italian Charm with Floorworks® Planks Posted: Jan 2015 Posted by: Mats Inc.

The perfect restaurant flooring for this charming Italian bar and lounge

Family-owned and operated, Agostino’s Italian Restaurant has been a fixture in the center of charming Natick, Massachusetts for more than thirty years. Agostino’s features an area for family style dining as well as a newly renovated lounge and bar area for a more relaxed drinking and dining experience.

The lounge area, renovated in October 2013, features a clean and contemporary design scheme. Owner George Souliopoulis worked with Interior Designer Paul Campisano of Interior Design Projects, Inc. to create a warm, inviting and modernized space to compliment their authentic Italian dishes. Mr. Campisano and the owner chose Floorworks® planks in Antique Zebra Wood for the flooring, white leather bar stools and bar and a dark granite bar top to unify their vision.

The building was built in the 1940s and presented several challenges during the renovation process including subfloor issues and various elevation and transition considerations. The previous flooring was a mix of porcelain tile and a Pergo product that, after thirty years, was overdue for replacement. With a long history of success using Mats Inc. flooring products, Mr. Campisano recommended Floorworks® planks to complete the updated aesthetic and provide the durability and ease of maintenance for looks that last.
