Green Living Tips: Gas Mileage Posted: Feb 2012 Posted by: Mats Inc.

With gas prices on the rise again, it’s important to get the most out of your car’s gas mileage.  Here are some simple tips to get more bang for your buck!

  • Avoid routes that have hills and constant stops. These can be killers for fuel efficiency.
  • Get your oil changed regularly, change air filters and check tire pressure.  Simple, routine maintenance can improve fuel efficiency by 15%.
  • The shortest route isn’t always the most fuel efficient. If the shortest route has you stopping at lights every ¼ of a mile, it may not be the best gas-saving route.

Take the Green Guide Gas Quiz from National Geographic  to find out how much you know about fuel efficient driving!
