Simple tips for a greener Thanksgiving:

• Use reusables. Set the table with real plates and silverware, and use cloth napkins and tablecloth to create less waste.

• Turn down the heat. If all your holiday cooking doesn’t heat up your house, your guests will.

• Send guests home with leftovers in reusable containers. Consider donating leftovers to your local soup kitchen and nonperishable items to your local food pantry.
